Hi!

Returning from the desert where the soul's journey begins, breaking the chains that are an irreconcilable part of her personality, a young woman keeps searching for a deeper meaning. Two personalities clash on this journey: the one shedding the old dress of her past, and the one through which she discovers herself. The characters she meets trace the path on which she flees from pain and, with pain in her soul, is led toward creative meaning.

This is a poetry collection whose protagonist is the heart, the very impulse she ran from and keeps returning to. Hoping to stand before Him again in a new dress, she does not give up on leaving the bondage of debt (part one); by letting go of the old she forgives (part two), discovering the freedom of her being (part three). The collection was written as a turning point: finding, through her own strength, a different chance at love.

In this collection the author traces a deeply personal journey of self-knowledge and inner transformation. A young woman returns to the suburbs of the city and to her family home, where the memories, wounds and silences of the past demand an answer. Through poetry she tries to face herself and to shed light on what stayed unspoken for years. These poems were born of a relationship with a Greek writer, a relationship that pushed her toward writing. Trying to move away from the sense of the world's futility, she discovers pieces of her own self. Or is the soul, after all, thirsty for poetry by its very nature? Across the book's two parts, the poet turns pain, memory and unrequited love into a path of maturing. Her verses speak of the fall and resurrection of the heart, of loss that becomes knowledge, and of the strength of a love that persists.

The author reveals her imperfection, and her honesty and authenticity lead to personal growth and transformation. A young woman returns to the edge of the city, to her parents’ house, where she relives emotional moments and memories. The inner journey she sets out on seems heroic, though at times it is filled with fear or momentary confusion. Through poetry she dives into the desert of her own being, searching for the answers she is missing. The collection portrays her in two thematic parts: “Look into My Heart” and “Come Back to Yourself, My Soul”. Inspired by eros, she writes verses and, without mincing her words, speaks to readers who long for comfort after unrequited love. She goes through life’s cycles alone, while the rises and falls of the past become a crown in the maturing of her soul. Her verses speak of pain, of the heart’s resurrection, of loss that becomes knowledge, and of love being born.

The novel's protagonist goes through a transformation in order to play a convincing role while living the matrix of the desert. His diary is the ideal place to uncover an inner adventure: through closeness with himself he brings various journeys to life, and through them the history of forgotten holy people. His stories describe the fates and encounters of unusual characters, through whom he reaches much further into meaning, that is, into accepting his own being.

Sometimes it takes a whole decade to break the chains of captivity, and for the cracks that light covers to become poems. The novel shows that human reason does not surpass God's possibilities; it invites the reader to reflect. He knows that his mission into the unknown, one worth leaving for, leads to a ticket to a different life. The story begins innocently enough in Dorćol, and the hero ends up in the Middle East, gazing at the sand that remembers the touch of the bare feet of the Only One...
